Aimee (Fulper)
Apatow received her first experience in youth leadership as a member of 4H,
leading to her position as 4H Ambassador for the State of Nevada in 1990-92.
In 1993, as a student at the University of Nevada, Reno, her interest in
community service projects opened the door for her to be a participant in
meetings with the executive directors of front line service programs in Northern
Nevada with the Run Across America team. The unmet needs defined
during these meetings would serve as a starting point for the development
of service projects that could best address the unmet needs in her community.
This progression led to Aimee's interest in the study of the cross section
of US cities during this national initiative, strategic planning, project
development and eventual role as co-founder of the non-profit organization
Humanitarian Resource Institute (HRI) in 1994.
Aimee received her B.A. in Liberal Studies and M.P.H from Southern Connecticut
State University (SCSU) with an emphasis in Environmental Public Health
and Business Administration. As a certified OSHA Trainer and work
as an Occupational Health and Safety Administrator, she is also an adjunct
professor at Southern Connecticut State University.
